  1. Tell us a little about your family.

My husband Dennis and I just celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary together. We enjoy vacationing at the beach, being active, spending time with family, and food! We have four children: Neal who is 20, Carly who is 13 and just started Middle School; she enjoys cheer squad, Rylan is 11 and is in 5th grade; he loves to read books, and Leyton who is 9 is in 4th grade; he loves to explore our property and find bugs, fish, and frogs!

  1. Tell us a bit about your education and professional background.

I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from IUPU Columbus. I got married a month after I graduated college and substitute taught for the first year. When we got pregnant with Carly, I decided to stay home. My professional development consists of tying shoes and changing diapers for 13 years. I also volunteered at church, and taught dance at a studio for 3 years before I was recruited to apply for the Volunteer Coordinator position at Clarity. I did that for 2 years until I was recruited for the Education Department to be speaker in the High Schools and Junior High. Do you see a theme here?!  🙂

  1. What hobbies do you have outside of work?

I love to dance and sing. I teach Zumba at Tipton Lakes Athletic Club. I lead dance worship for our Elementary age program at church once a month. I have been able to choreograph Carly’s dances for her cheer groups. I love to spend time with family and friends, entertain friends at our home, eat, do bible study, and travel with our family.

  1. Be honest, what song or band is your guilty pleasure?

All of my Zumba songs would be considered a guilty pleasure, some are so saucy! 🙂  I do use some Christian music in my classes when I can. I love all types of music, but I love classic rock. I grew up listening to it because of my Dad. One of my favorites is Bob Seger.

  1. If you could eat one food for the rest of your life without getting sick of it, what would it be?

I love Mexican food!!! I love eating it at restaurants and I love making it! I just perfected Restaurant style Mexican rice. All I need to do is make my own refried beans and I will be a master!  🙂  After our mission trip to Honduras this year, I attempted to make my own tortillas! Yummy!

  1. If you could hop on a plane today and fly anywhere in the world, where would you go?

I would probably go to Hawaii. There are lots of places I would like to see, but I do NOT like to fly. Hawaii is probably top on my list right now.

  1. What is the best advice anyone has ever given you?

Always remember to show everyone the love, grace, and mercy that God has shown you! We all are broken people. Sometimes we forget that we fall into the same sin traps that others do, especially when the offense is against us. When I remember this principle, it definitely brings peace into my life and relationships. We are all equal at the foot of the cross.
